Of all living creatures on this planet, humans are undoubtedly the least intelligent given that they are the only creature that actively seeks out to consume foods which are not native to the human diet.
If Sir David Attenborough were to film an accurate documentary series on the human species it would be a fascinating few hours of witnessing a so-called intelligent species as it systematically poisons itself with the consumption of chemically laden, manufactured food products such as frooty hoops & choco pop breakfast cereals, McBurgers & McFries, meat pie products containing 6% meat, imitation butter in the form of margarine which is only 1 molecule away from being considered as plastic, dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets containing 30% chicken meat & hot dogs (which thank goodness, don’t contain any dog meat) but are listed on the known carcinogenic list of foods (carcinogenic means it causes cancer).
There are also potato chip products in the shape of mini kangaroos which don’t contain potato at all (or any kangaroo) & instead contain a host of flavours, colours & preservatives which remain unpronounceable by even Sir Attenborough himself. We feed these marsupial shaped specialities to our children along with cans of sugary sodas which contain enough phosphoric acid to strip the driveway of stubborn engine oil stains, & we do this day after day after day. Lunch-time options include sandwiches cut into cute triangles containing margarine (again, 1 molecule away from being plastic), processed meat slices (also on the known carcinogenic list of foods) neatly laid out on soft white bread which is no longer made from flour, yeast, salt & water, but more commonly made from unrecognizable ingredients which give it that distinctive sweet softness (much like fluffy chemical clouds). And finally, some dairy slices.
Don’t you mean cheese?
No, dairy slices are a processed imitation cheese product which doesn’t melt but will instead burn to tar in a flash under the grill.
Sir David Attenborough,” … And the mother of the human species waits patiently in medical clinic with her offspring, awaiting results of advanced medical testing to determine what is wrong with her overweight, diabetic child who is displaying signs of cognitive developmental delays & behavioural abnormalities”.
Well, at least the human species is intelligent enough to thoroughly research the dietary requirements of other animal species in its care, such as pet snakes, for example.
Humans will actively seek out crickets, bugs & mice for our pet snake, as well as provide plenty of fresh water daily. No McBurgers, fries & cola for our reptile friend?
No, he cost us a small fortune & we don’t want him to get sick.
What about our pet canines? Our furry pooches need fresh water daily (none of this diet soda or sugary soda stuff) & fresh meat pouches (I hear kangaroo meat is good for your pooch). But no chocolate for your pooch, it’s poisonous to pooches, remember! And dogs can’t have too many dinner table scraps because they’ll get fat. Oh & no sweets for your canine either because they will get diabetes & their teeth will rot. Vet bills are expensive & we don’t want him to get sick.
For those lucky enough to own a pet horse, we feed that guy only the greenest grass & the best grains & hay. Fresh carrots as well (he loves those). Veggies are great, except nightshade veggies like tomato & potato. No chocolate or sugary foods as this leads to obesity in horses. And no bread (it blocks his digestive tract).
Do we give him fizzy drinks? No way. We also wouldn’t dream of feeding him frooty hoops for breakfast or hot dogs for lunch. Horses are a very special creatures indeed, they cost a lot of money to own & to maintain, equine bills cost an arm & a leg so we ensure to feed him well to ensure he lives a long & healthy life.
And what of our own children then?
Sir David Attenborough, “… the seemingly intelligent adults of the human species feed their offspring a diet of chemically laden, processed food products whose molecular structure is indistinguishable from polymers & plastics.
Despite the 50,000 edible plant species on earth, most of the species of humanity consume only 100 of those plants, that is 0.2% of the potential options. With the western portion of the diet existing on far fewer yet of this 0.2%.
Advancements in medically technology are yet to determine why children of the human species are plagued by conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) & attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), conditions which are yet to be seen in other animal species existing on the same planet.”
Such as horses, for example. Horses don’t get autism, funnily enough.

Chronic inflammation plays a role in common disorders such as anxiety & depression, ADHD, schizophrenia, asthma, diabetes, some forms of cancer, migraine, myopathy, gastrointestinal disorders such as IBD & IBS, neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s, autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, coeliac disease, cardiovascular disease, disease of the joints, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, to name but a few.
Common to these types of pro-inflammatory disorders is that they appear amongst the top 5 causes of death amongst men & women in Australia as well as plaguing society as a whole, leading to disability of young & old alike.
What exactly is inflammation & does it serve a purpose?
Inflammation forms a natural part of the body's defense mechanism. It is the process in which the immune system recognizes & removes harmful substances or stimuli from the body in order for the healing process to begin.
Inflammation is basically your body trying to remove the harmful substance & begin the process of healing itself. The problem is that if we continue to ingest or expose ourselves to environmental toxins & pro-inflammatory substances, our bodies cannot keep up & this is where disease manifests.
Unfortunately, the modern diet of processed food is flooded with chemicals, additives, preservatives & toxins that most of us have no idea what we are eating. And if you combine that with low levels of physical activity which slows down the body's natural detoxification processes, you are creating the perfect storm for chronic disease to manifest.
You literally are a result of what you eat, drink, do or don’t do & you manifest this into your reality one bite at a time.
Eating a healthy diet can often be seen as a sacrifice people are unwilling to make because they don’t want to give up their favourite meals of convenience. But the reality is that the more healthful foods you include in your diet, the better you’ll feel. And the better you feel, the less you’ll want to reach out for those meals of convenience because feeling healthy & well is sure damn addictive.
I tend to view it from a different perspective in that I am no longer willing to sacrifice my health & well-being for the sake of the modern diet.
The food you eat can either be the safest & most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.
